There are a lot of free e-commerce solutions out there, and a handful of them are awesome - all for different reasons. The only real way to know what's out there, and whether its any good is to experience it, practise using it, and best of all: run into problems with it. The most excellent way to learn something is to troubleshoot and problem solve, because to come up with a solution (in ideal circumstances) you will have to understand the problem or product enough to fix it... (Déjà vu... double Déjà vu...!)

This page isn't here to tell you which to use, or why to use it, but to provide my students with the opportunity to play with a few different shopping carts and get a feel for the differences between them, from both a client perspective and as a web designer/developer. When you're done I want you to tell me which ones you think are the best, and why. Remember that different clients have different needs, and their solutions should always appropriately address their needs.

The following table contains the front-end, and back-end links. Students will have been supplied with login details in class or via email.

Please respect these environments, they are for all the students to explore and play with - please make sure that any administrative changes you make, you revert when you are finished exploring. Products, customers, categories, invoices, employees and such data are fine (and encouraged) to leave in the database if you add any.
